Victoria Whitehead

I work in the corporate services department, within the audit and accounts preparation team. On a day-to-day basis, I will be assisting clients with their everyday queries, preparing corporation tax returns (along with the accounts to go with them) for various clients and travelling to a large variety of clients every week to audit their financial statements.

Before joining the accounting world, I studied Animal Welfare at Moulton College, I always wanted to be a vet or an RSPCA inspector but that was short lived when I hurt my back.

Before joining Ellacotts, I worked for a little firm in Brackley. I worked here with my mum for 2 years, managing the payroll and VAT returns on a daily basis. My mum is an accountant and payroll advisor, she taught me the very basics of accounting and payroll while we were working together. While I was working here, I was studying for my AAT level 3.

I have been at Ellacotts for over 3 years, starting in the payroll department, within that time I became qualified in payroll, and I still advise people where I can and assist my team with any payroll queries they might have.

After payroll, I moved into the accounts department where I learnt how to prepare a set of financial statements and prepare corporation tax computations while studying my AAT level 4. I now do a mix of audit and accounts preparation. Audit is a lot of travelling and meeting a large variety of clients, which I do enjoy. On a day-to-day basis of audit, I will be checking in detail the client’s workings that make up their financial statements. I am now working towards becoming a qualified accountant for ACCA.
I love working at Ellacotts because of how friendly, welcoming and supportive the team is. We have regular social gatherings and team building/training exercises which keep the staff moral up.

Away from the office, I love to game on my PC, primarily playing the Sims, the Isle, Path of Titans and World of Warcraft. I also love to look after my animals. I have 3 cats, 1 bunny, 4 chickens and 1 hamster, everyone in the offices knows I love my animals and would love to have my own little farm in the future.
